London's Brand New Vegan Pizza Delivery Service: Good Belly Pizza
Confession of the week: when I was at uni and had a deadline looming, I used to order 2 large Domino's pizzas and live off of only stuffed crust tuna mushroom black olive pizza until my essay was turned in.
These days, my life is a little more in order, and I'm proud to say I haven't ordered Domino's in years. There are a few good vegan pizzas out there - in my opinion, Firezza is delicious and Zizzi's cheese is disgusting - but, up until now, London has been seriously lacking an all-vegan pizza delivery service.
Cue Good Belly - the brainchild of Bianca from Breakfast London, Luke from HelloFresh and photographer Mark.
A few short weeks ago, they had the idea of turning their garage into a vegan pizza kitchen, and the result is really impressive - I had a peek before we tucked into our pizzas!
Equally impressive is the food they're serving up: creative both in name and nature. Take the Crazy Rich Asian BBQ for example:
Crazy Rich Asian BBQ
Pulled BBQ jackfruit, vegan cheese, pickled shallots and a miso ginger drizzle.
This was one of my favourites - being Eurasian, I'm all for east-west fusion cuisine!
Elsewhere on the menu we have…
Marga-Ri-Ri
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil drizzle.
Kimcheese
Tomato sauce, cheese, 'Lil Kimi Chi' kimchi and fresh basil.
WaKiKi Do You Love Me?
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, pineapple and vegan bacon bits.
Buffalo Soldier
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, buffalo cauliflower, almond ricotta, house ranch drizzle and fresh chives.
Quattro Stagioni
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, artichokes, mushrooms, kalamata olives, red onion, garlic oil and fresh parsley.
Chris P. Bacon & Bravo-Cado
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, vegan bacon bits, avocado and coconut feta.
And one of my other favourites, purely for the indulgence factor -
Truffle Mac Not Crack
Tomato sauce, vegan cheese, macaroni in a truffle vegan cheese sauce, vegan parmesan crumb and fresh chives.
Yes, I tried a slice of each, and two slices of the Crazy Rich Asian and the Truffle Mac. I’m happy to spend my bonus breastfeeding calories on vegan pizza.
Personally, I think this is a game-changer for London. Firezza got me through Tuesday nights with their two-for-Tuesdays deal during pregnancy, but the options were really limited and there were no creative sauces to add - plus no vegan meat substitutes.
Good Belly is currently available via Deliveroo only - their kitchen is close to High Street Kensington station - so if you’re in that area, enjoy! You can also find Good Belly Pizza on Instagram here.
I can’t wait to see what Good Belly take off in London and beyond - they deserve to with pizzas like these!
Let me know if you’ve tried Good Belly and your thoughts on the pizzas, and thanks for reading!
