A Lesson In Second Hand Baby Shoes
I know a family walk in the park is one of the most common activities people do with their kids but... today was our first one with a walker, and I feel like my heart has turned to putty.
We finally got Chia some actual shoes - I was searching for sustainable & affordable ones (no eBay because didn't know if they'd fit). Until now, she's been wearing thick mittens for an older kid on her feet to keep them warm. I found these second-hand Clarks baby shoes at @mindcharity shop in Frinton-on-Sea for £3.50 and they fit perfectly! She started walking a couple of weeks ago so it's great timing and today was all about toddling around in the mud and getting mucky. Her snowsuit is the @littlegreenradicals one I patched up last week, my leggings are @teekigram made from recycled plastic bottles, and my jumper is a vintage one I found at @beyondretro (will never get bored of autumnal colours).
I love that second-hand clothes mean they come worn-in, so getting stains on them doesn't feel like a big deal. If you're planning to (or have had) more than one baby, did you keep the clothes from the first? Or give them away for someone else to use? What influenced your decision?
P.S. there won't be a baby coming soon
EDIT: I've been told it's important to have babies' feet measured because the wrong size can damage their little cartilage-fatty feet ♥️ and also that shoes well worn by previous owners can be moulded to the previous child's feet, which is not good for the new baby.
We'll be going to have her feet measured ASAP and will ask them for advice.
