The Real Greek Vegan Options

Greek cuisine is one of my favourites, though it can sometimes be tricky to find authentic Greek food that doesn’t include meat, dairy, eggs or fish! A few weeks ago I was invited to visit The Real Greek to try their vegan options. After featuring The Real Greek in the Vegan London guidebook, I was excited to try their Stratford Westfield branch. The Real Greek has some fantastic vegan-friendly options which represent authentic Greek culture.

This time, my husband and I had the Vegan Plate, which includes flatbread, crudités, hummus, spicy walnut and red pepper dip, Santorini fava, jackfruit stifado, spinach with gigandes, and pourgouri (bulgur wheat). This mammoth plate was my favourite dish, as it meant we got to taste a bit of everything. In addition to this, we also had the chickpea filo triangles (hot mezze), mousakka, and baklava for dessert.

The vegan options were fantastic and we had great service. I can’t wait to head back and eat even more baklava - I might try a different branch next time, as they have lots across London, and they’re all designed with interior reflecting different parts of Greece.
